I studied to become a Credentialed Diabetes Educator in 2013. My main focus is too help my clients self manage their diabetes effectively to prevent complications. I specialise in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and also Gestational Diabetes. I am the first point of call when people require information on Diabetes, motivation and ongoing support and help refer on to other relevant allied health professionals e.g. podiatrist, dietitian etc. As a diabetes educator I facilitate in the management of diabetes care e.g. weight loss advice, food and portion control, exercise regime etc. Take control now of your diabetes and book in to have an initial consultation to discuss the care needed for you.
Erin Russell (Dietitian)
Erin Russell is an accredited practicing dietitian who graduated last year from Monash University in Melbourne with a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. A dietitian is the ‘gold standard’ for nutrition and can provide meal plans, nutrition education and a range of suggestions for a variety of disease states. Erin is a member of the Dietetics Association of Australia. She has worked closely with a variety of patient groups through her work in both public health and clinical settings. Erin’s interests are within community and private practice dietetics, where she can build a strong relationship with her clients and make a large impact on their nutrition and overall health. She does not have a specific specialisation as yet, but her interests are within diabetes, weight management, malnutrition and sports dietetics.
In her spare time, Erin loves to cook, bake, and volunteer for children’s cooking classes at a local primary school. Erin welcomes any new patients to make an appointment and can provide meal plans, nutrition education and general nutrition advice.
Claudina Garcia (Psychologist)
Claudina Garcia is a registered psychologist with 14 years of experience providing assessment and treatment to adolescents and adults experiencing mental health issues.
Claudina graduated in the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology in 1997 and has been fully registered in Australia since 2002.
Claudina completed the Masters of Psychology (Counselling Psychologist) in 2015 at Swinburne University. Claudina has worked for over 7 years in a public hospital in the field of Alcohol and Drug Addictions with adolescents and adults.
She has worked with homeless people with dual diagnosis (Mental Health and Substance Abuse) and she prepared and delivered training to Mental Health practitioners working with Dual Diagnosis clients. She also worked in a private psychiatric hospital running groups with patients with severe anxiety and depression in an inpatient ward as well as conducting individual assessment and treatment.
Claudina completed family therapy training and has worked in private practice with individuals; couples and families with relationship problems since 2007. Claudina is currently the Director of Psychologists’ Corner ( www.psychologistscorner.com)
Claudina speaks Spanish and welcomes the Spanish community to access treatment in their native language.
